Day 56 au revoir Paris Buongiorno Roma

Hi
Today we again rose early as we needed to get to Orly airport to get our flight to Rome. The metro was really efficient and the links with the RER at no extra cost was excellent. We got to Orly in plenty of time.  It was delayed as the air traffic controllers were on strike.

Anna and I agreed that we had the best almond croissant we had ever had for breakfast.

We loved our apartment in the St Francis xavier area of the city it was convenient to all major cites had a nespresso coffee maker!!!!! Was clean, we'll appointed with the expected utensils that you would not get in a hotel. I recommend apartment mithouard to anyone.

Paris was great three nights is not really long enough but we will sometime be back for more. The kids loved it too. Thanks Paris.

When we arrived at Fuimucino airport there was a weird feel . We got our bags and just walked out . No passport check no nothing???

We bought our Roma pass and then went to buy our tickets for the train. Kids go free on all transport.

We walked from the termini station to our hotel only 5 mins away so yet again very central.

We decided to go for dinner at the Trevi fountain anna took charge of directions.

In a previous post I commented on Anna's poor sense of direction and inability to read maps. I was ready to change my mind on this as she has been a great co pilot on this trip TO DATE. Anyway we needed to go on line A so she got us on line B. Then a hilarious moment occurred as we realised we were wrong we decided to get off. Anna was the first and only person to get off in time, leaving Cody , Luke and myself still on the metro. We went on to the next stop turned around and started again.

found this great restaurant in the back streets and were serenaded by accordion players and singer.

We found this great gelato shop there are hundreds of them and then cruised to the Trevi fountain the hawkers are a pain in the butt. We then walked to the Spanish steps, went and got some supplies and headed home for a well deserved rest.

It's a fountain Luke
Where's this?.. McDonald's Rome style.
At the Spanish steps.

We are going to see the pope tomorrow, I have booked confession.
