Day 1 18 th April (The longest day)

Hi everyone

Firstly I feel very lucky and privelidged to have been given a term off to do whatever I want.

Thank you Auckland Grammar School.

100 days is a great length of time to be away. We will keep you updated on our time away in the USA,  Wales the UK in general France, Italy, Croatia and Finland when we go on a separate trip.

We got to the Airport via Annas mum Chrissy may.

We had a great flight where the boys watched movies and played games and had a sleep.

They are however on a behaviour contract already and Luke has missed out on spending money at universal studios tomorrow.

As we left the plane Cody said "Dad I'm not feeling too good" he spewed everywhere outside the  plane door to which American efficiency and customer service came to the fore with a lovely mexican lady escorted us down to immigration.

There must have been a 2 hour wait!! She took us down the express line and got through in 5 minutes. AWESOME.

We then got the hire car Ford Escape (Mandatory satnav) but on the way to the Carraghers (Rick is teh cross country coach at Pasadena Poly where we go on tour) it stopped working. This was not great as most of you know Connolly women are not the best navigators. Anyway google maps andstanav when it did work got us to Altadena in the end.

The boys were confronted with a swimming pool at the Carraghers so they are happy splashing around

I am writing this and it is still only 5.30 on the 18th April.
